1) Pink Eye

If you ever feel bits of sand rubbing against your eyeball, then it might be a common symptom of conjunctivitis(Pink Eye). This disease is contagious, even sharing towels or glasses might spread the infection.

2) Otitis

It is one of the most common infectious diseases in humans. If you see any yellowish- green fluid seeping through your ears, then you should be careful as it might be a symptom of Otitis. It is commonly known as middle ear infection. This might be caused by viruses or bacteria and is common in children.

3) Winter Vomiting

Known as viral gastroenteritis is an infectious illness of the tract by which food normally enters the human body. Rotavirus is one of the common causes. 4) Hepatitis B

It is one of the most common infections in the world, affecting 2 billion people. It is characterized by nausea and fatigue. Gilead Science’s Viread is claimed to be one of the best known therapies that was approved in the US in 2008. This disease can cause long-term complications such as liver cancer.

5) Dengue

Around 50 million people are affected by Dengue each year. This disease is common in Africa and Asia with symptoms like fever, headaches, joint pain, and muscle pain. Surprisingly, there is no specific drug for the disease but to reduce symptoms of Dengue, Tylenol is used widely.

6) Cryptosporidiosis

It is one of the common causes of waterborne diseases in the United States. This disease spreads through contaminated water sources including the feces of infected animals or humans. Diarrhea, stomach cramps, and fever are some of the common symptoms of the infection

7) Sleeping Sickness

It is clinically called African Trypanosomiasis and is spread by tsetse fly. It is very common in African countries. The infected patients may have symptoms such as fever, headache, and joint pain. The World Health Organization has estimated that nearly 450,000 occur every year.

8) Hantavirus

It is spread by rodents to humans. If people come in contact with any bodily fluids of rodents such as rats or mice, they can get infected with hantavirus. It was first identified in the US in 1993. The initial symptoms of the disease include fever and vomiting.

9) Measles

It is a contagious disease that causes red rashes on the skin. If you are infected with this disease, you might develop symptoms of a common cold. According to CDC, if a person stands near an infected individual, they might get infected easily.

10) Ebola

It is one of the most common fatal infections. Some of its symptoms include fever, muscle pain, and headache. In the last stages of the disease, the individual may bleed from nose and mouth. It is a condition known as hemorrhagic syndrome. It spreads from person to person through bodily fluids.
