NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division I is well known for March Madness, created in 1939 by the national association of basketball coaches. The March Madness schedule has been updated. The men’s basketball tournament will be a single-elimination tournament with 68 college basketball teams played every spring in the United States. These 68 teams are divided into four regions and organized into a single-elimination “bracket” beginning with the first four-round, a first four-round consisting of 64 teams playing in 32 games over a week, the “sweet 16” and “elite 18” rounds the next week and weekend. When a team wins, it shows which team will face the next game with whom. The teams play the two final four games, one from each region(east, south, midwest, and west) competing in a preselected location for the national championship.
March Madness has had a huge craze and viewership since 1969. They have started televising partially on network television. CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV are broadcasting this tournament under the trade-name NCAA March Madness, and they have paid $10.8 billion to NCAA to broadcast this game from 2011 to 2032. Due to the pandemic of 2020, both Men and Women’s tournaments got canceled. In 2021, Indiana hosted the tournament in various venues for the first and only time. The UCLA school team owns 11 titles, the maximum number of titles in the NCAA tournament. Kentucky is the second-largest titleholder, having won eight times. North Carolina, is the 3rd largest titleholder with 6 titles. Baylor won its first title in the previous tournament in 2021. The NCAA tournament has changed its game format many times over the years. After the 2010 tournament, the NCAA planned to increase the tournament size to a maximum of 128 teams. From 2011 to 2015, the round of 64 was deemed to be the second round beginning in 2016, and the round of 64 was again deemed to be the first round.
TL/DR version for March Madness Schedule 2022 will have the remaining rounds to play:
Sweet 16: March 24-25
Elite Eight: March 26-27
Final Four: April 2
NCAA championship game: April 4
