Bon Jovi’s real name is not Jon Bon Jovi at all. His father, John Francis Bongiovi Sr is an Italian with Slovakian ancestry and his mother is of Russian and German ancestry. They named their son John Francis Bongiovi Jr. They were supposed to be called Johnny Electric! But ultimately they went with their lead singer’s name after being inspired by Van Halen through a friend.
‘R2-D2 We Wish You a Merry Christmas’ is the lead singer’s first professional song and it was released with the Star Wars theme album ‘Christmas in the Stars’. The band was formed in 1983 and it has only seen two lineup changes, one in 1994 and 2013. Hugh McDonald replaced Alec John Such and Phil X was on board after the departure of guitarist Richie Sambora.
