James Cameron’s Sequel Story

James Cameron’s Avatar made a comeback after a wait of more than a decade!

James Cameron has promised that his science fiction movie Avatar 2 will arrive next year. We watch several movies over the years only a few gain our attention and remain in our minds. Avatar is one of them. It was released in December 2009, and still remains the highest-grossing movie of all time, with a whopping $2.782 billion worldwide. Avatar 2 will take place underwater as stated by James Cameron.

What Is the Avatar 2 Release Date?

Previous statements indicated that the Avatar movie sequel would arrive in theaters in 2015 but its release was delayed a half-dozen times. The latest delay was announced due to the global shutdown so Avatar 2 is now set to release on December 17, 2021.

Avatar 2 Plot

The director of the movie James Cameron wants to keep the plot a mystery for most of the story. Hence the main plot details haven’t been exposed yet. Cameron has mentioned that the sequels will introduce “whole new worlds, habitats, and cultures,” and also the movie will introduce some different kinds of intelligent alien species. We got little information that we can see other tribes of the Na’vi and some of Pandora’s oceans. We will also meet Jake and Neytiri’s kids.

Avatar 2 story will be centered on the oceans of the planet Pandora and some new characters will be introduced to the sequel. The movie focuses on family and we will see underwater technology.

Did you know? Officially Avatar 2 hasn’t got any title yet. However, the BBC reported that the sequels could be named Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar: The Seed Bearer, Avatar: The Tulkun Rider, and Avatar: The Quest for Eywa. Some titles were leaked on the internet such as Avatar: The Way of Water. Later, Cameron stated that these leaked titles were potential names for the film, but he hasn’t declared which one is picked for the sequel.

 James Cameron was the lone credited screenwriter for the first movie Avatar, but for four sequels he arranged a full team of collaborators who have supported him to break down all upcoming chapters of the franchise. While speaking about the script of Avatar2, Cameron stated that “the storyline in the sequels really follows Jake and Neytiri and their children. It’s more of a family saga about the struggle with the humans.”

 The Avatar filmmaking crew is known for its boundary-pushing filmmaking technology and Cameron promised to show revolutionary 3D technology in the upcoming movies. Avatar’s behind the scenes facts must be certainly very interesting. The movie is being shot in Manhattan Beach California, but will also use some locations in New Zealand. Avatar 2 cast includes the new and returning characters.
