Prince Charles & Diana’s Love Story & the Royal Wedding

Princess Diana and Charles’ love story isn’t something the world will forget anytime soon. Words are not enough to describe the grace and charm of the Princess of Wales. Diana Frances Spencer was a young, dynamic, and charismatic Princess who was looked up on for her humanitarian activities and impeccable fashion statements.

It dates back to 1977 when Prince Charles and Diana first met at the Spencers residence. It was Diana’s elder sister Sarah that Charles first dated. However, the two later broke up. Years later in 1980, Charles and Diana met at a party they both were invited to. In one of her memoirs, the Princess of Wales has confessed that she has met Charles only 13 times before he proposed for marriage.

Soon after they fell head over heels in love, Prince Charles proposed Diana and the couple officially announced their engagement on 24th February 1981. Diana sported a breathtaking blue sapphire ring surrounded by 12 beautiful diamonds. The ring later became the engagement ring for Kate, the Princess of Cambridge.
