The crew went to the ISS to shoot some scenes for a movie called The Challenge. The Challenge film will be recognized as the first feature-length fiction movie shot in space, according to The New York Times, t. The movie focuses on the story of the Russian doctor who wants to save the life of the cosmonaut aboard the International Space Station. The crew safely docked in orbit and completed two orbits. The launch to shoot the space movie “The challenge” puts Russia on a path to surpass a Hollywood project declared last year by Tom Cruise, Nasa, and Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

Klim Shipenko planned to shoot for about 35-40 minutes of a movie on the ISS. He will also take the position of art director, director, and makeup artist. Oleg Novitsky and Peter Dubrov will be part of the movie. Dubrov and Mark Vande Hei will support and assist in the production. Shkaplerov will show up in a few scenes of the film.

Actor Yulia Peresild stated that it was not easy psychologically, emotionally, and physically. But she thinks when they achieve their goal it won’t look bad. Yulia Peresild was picked among 3000 candidates for the role. Before their space journey, the pre-flight tradition was religiously performed by cosmonauts. They also watched the classic movie White Sun of the Desert. Shipenko and Peresild are planned to return to Earth on 17th October in a capsule along with the cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, who has been staying on the ISS for the last six months. The cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky stated, space is a place where we become pioneers and can maintain a confident position. If this project becomes successful, it will be remembered for a longer time in Russia’s space industry. The Soviets introduced the first spacecraft known as Sputnik and sent the first animal, called Laika, the first female Valentina Tereshkova and first male Yuri Gagarin into space. Compared to the Soviet era, modern Russia faced challenging situations to create something great with state funding and with the Kremlin prioritizing military spending. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that this project will help represent Russia’s space talent and prowess. Peskov said they have been pioneers in space and such a mission helps show their achievements and space exploration in general and are beneficial for the country. Shipenko will finish filming on Earth once he completes filming in space.
