“The Bad Guys” – A crime comedy Entertainer

The Bad Guys is an animated crime comedy movie that incorporates the story of a book by the same name, ‘The Bad Guys’. It is a graphic novel series written by Aaron Blabey. Pierre Perifel directed the movie which centers around a group of anthropomorphic animals who plan a heist on a bank.

The cast of the anthropomorphic animals is Sam Rockwell as Mr. Wolf, Marc Maron as Mr. Snake, Anthony Ramos as Mr. Piranha, Craig Robinson as Mr. Shark, and Awkwafina as Ms. Tarantula. The Bad Guys crew showcased their unique skills and personalities that perfectly fits the story.

The story begins…

The film starts with Mr. Wolf and Mr. Snake sitting in a diner cracking habitual jokes. When the conversation turned into an argument about their food choices, they just started gaiting across the street to implement their plan to rob a bank nearby.

Now, it’s time for Mr. Wolf to show himself and his entire crew to the audience. The fun-filled and well-planned car chase sequence which is a combination of Out of Sight, Pulp Fiction and Fast and Furious made the audience fall for the movie.

Afterward, the Bad Guys attempt to steal an award from a gala event for philanthropic guinea pig professor Rupert Marmalade (Richard Ayoade). But Mr. Wolf’s heroism made the tables turn.

As a result, Mr. Wolf and his team decide to prove themselves. They take the help from the professor who oversees them and act as Good guys to puzzle everyone in the event.

The movie is lively with a warm color palette which gives viewers a gorgeous animated visual finish. Every character in the Bad Guys robs the audience’s heart for their fun and clever attitude.

Though the screenplay doesn’t focus more on the heist, it doesn’t disappoint the audience. The car chasing sequences and the final scenes are more fun and engaging.

The film will indeed tell the message “Never judge a book by its cover” to the kids who watch the film.
