2021 MTV EMAs: The Complete Winners List

The 2021 MTV EMA is done and dusted. Let’s find out the complete list of winners, nominees, and the celebs who had an epic after-party post the event. The show was hosted by Justin Beiber and was held on the 14th of November 2021 in Hungary for the first time. The Best K-pop category was introduced for the first time this year. 

MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA)

The MTV EMAs began on 24th November 1994. It was held five years after the fall of the Berlin Wall at the Brandenburg Gate in Germany. The awards were hosted by several different celebrities. Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Eva Longoria, Ed Sheeran, and Bebe Rexha were a few of the famous hosts of the event. 

The 2001 event became the first entertainment ceremony to be broadcast after the tragic 9/11 attack. The presenters wore t-shirts supporting Nuclear Disarmament.

Here is a full list of MTV EMAs 2021 winners: 

Ed Sheeran for “Bad Habits” and Lil Nas X – “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” won the Best Song and Best Video awards. Doja Cat (featuring SZA) — “Kiss Me More” and BTS won the Best Collaboration and Best Group awards. 

Saweetie (Best New), David Guetta (Best Electronic), Måneskin (Best Rock), Yungblud (Best Alternative), Maluma (Best Latin), Nicki Minaj (Best Hip Hop), Olivia Rodrigo (Best Push), and Billie Eilish — “Your Power” (Video for Good) won separate awards respectively.

The EMA nominees included famous celebrities like Imagine Dragons, Jonas Brothers, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris, Marshmallow, Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, Shakira, DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Kanye West, Twice, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, and Black Pink.  

Beiber was the most nominated male artist while Little Mix was the most nominated female group. Doja Cat and Lil Nas X faced a tie-off with six nominations.

2021 MTV EMA Winners

Ed Sheeran was the only individual to get two awards, one for Best Song and one for Best Artist. BTS was the only group to get four awards, one each under the categories Best Group, Best K-pop, Biggest Fans, and Best Pop.
