Mawsynram and  Cherrapunji

Mawsynram and Cherrapunji are the two cities with the highest rains located in the northeastern part of India. Cherrapunji is the world’s wettest city with an annual rainfall of 450 inches(11,430 mm) during monsoon season. Mawsynram and Cherrapunji are just 10 miles away from each other and the difference between their annual rainfall is just 4 inches. The best time to visit these two cities is winter as the weather is pleasant and comfortable.

 

Debundscha, Cameroon

Debundscha is one of the smallest towns located in Cameroon, Central Africa. With the highest rainfall of 10,299mm( 405.5 inches) annually, Debundscha comes under the category of one of the world’s wettest cities with the highest rainfall. Debundscha is located under Mount Cameroon, the highest peak and an active volcano in Central Africa. Due to the highest peak, Debundscha receives the longest rainy season.

 

Copenhagen, Denmark

Copenhagen is Denmark’s capital city located in the north of Germany and south of Norway. Copenhagen is not only well known for its tourist attractions like Tivoli Gardens and Hans Christian Anderen’s The Little Mermaid Statue. But also for its highest rainy days. The average annual rainfall of Copenhagen is 522.6mm (20.574 inches). This city experiences slightly higher rainfall from the month of July to September.

 

Hilo, Hawaii, United States

Hilo located on the upper east side of Hawaii, United States is one of the top hit parades for the highest rainfall. The annual precipitation of Hilo is 3300mm which is approximately 130 inches. The rainiest months of Hilo are March, April, November, and December. Even Though it rains heavily, it doesn’t stop tourists from spending their vacation here. Hilo is famous for its two prettiest waterfalls, museums, and the famous Merrie monarch festival.
