NBA

Dennis Rodman is widely known as the NBA’s greatest rebounder in history. Once, the cameraman got close to Dennis and he fell on top of him. This made Dennis angrier than ever and he kicked the cameraman.

Golf

It is common to experience meltdowns in individual sports like golf. France’s Jean Van de Velde was one hole away from achieving the 1999 British Open at Carnoustie in Scotland, when something went wrong.

Zinedine Zidane

French soccer player Zinedine Zidane’s head butt to Italian defender Marco Materazzi in the 2008 World Cup Final still remains one of the greatest meltdowns . Zidane is the most popular player in France who received a red card and his team lost the match because of a penalty kick shootout.

Horse Racing

Devon Loch owned by Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother and ridden by Dick Francis, was a racehorse that collapsed on the final straight during the 1956 Grand National. (The “meltdown story” is missing here.)

Basketball

Bobby Knight is remembered for one incident where he admitted to killing someone on the basketball court. Knight was also accused of choking a player. As a result, university president Myles Brand was fired in the fall of 2000.

Jolly John McEnroe is known as the greatest crybaby in sports history. McEnroe was caught screaming, “You cannot be serious; that ball was on the line.”
