Casa Grande Ruins

Casa Grande Ruins were built by ancient Sonoran Desert people. Casa Grande Ruins National Monument, in Coolidge, Arizona, just northeast of the city of Casa Grande, preserves a group of Hohokam structures dating to the Classic Period—300 to 900 CE. It became the first archeological preserve in the United States in 1892 and then a National Monument in 1918. The sites all date from sometime between 1150 and 1350 AD. ‘Casa Grande’ is a word derived from Spanish for ‘big house’.

The Sinagua people built the Tuzigoot pueblo with 110-rooms in  AD 1000. One can discover endless views of varying desert habitats and learn about the Sinagua people at the museum.

Four Corners Monument

The Four Corners Monument marks the quadripoint in the Southwestern United States, where the states of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah meet.
