The Mouse

Microsoft is known for its best quality hardware. It also made the first-ever hardware—a mouse in 1983. Though the one used in 1983 was an early prototype and had less use, the mouse later became a crucial piece of equipment due to its accessibility and is used even today.

The First Tablet

It is a myth that Apple came up with the first computer tablet. It was Microsoft. Many other companies tried to replicate the model, but didn’t succeed. Apple did.

The First Smartwatch

Microsoft created the first smartwatch in 1994 using Data Link 150. The watch was co-produced by Timex. It required a PC running on Windows 3.1 and was water-resistant up to 100 meters.

The Operating Software (OS)

The Lisa

No, not the Mona Lisa, but Microsoft did introduce a personal computer named Lisa which contained a graphical user interface (GUI) to perform routine operations. This was in 1983 and a year later it was adopted into Apple’s Macintosh in 1984.
