Netflix first movie

Kibble was the original name of the US-based video company before it was renamed to NetFlix.com and then Netflix. In April 1998, it started sending out DVD rentals; and in the following year, it announced its subscription-based business strategy. Netflix began streaming videos almost ten years later, altering how we view everything.

The fantasy-based Beetlejuice is Netflix’s first movie released on March 10, 1998. The first film available on the Netflix streaming service starred Geena Davis, Michael Keaton, and Alec Baldwin. The movie was directed by Tim Burton.

Netflix’s first movie ever

The first movie on Netflix, Beetlejuice is a fantasy horror and comedy-based film, where Adam and Barbara Maitland make the decision to spend their vacation beautifying their picture-perfect country house in Connecticut. Following a trip to the store, the two were returning home when Barbara swerved to avoid a dog, causing the vehicle to crash into a river. Adam chose to go back and retrace their steps after they reached the home because they couldn’t remember how they got there. When he went outside, he was transported to a world of enormous sandworms in the desert before Barbara pulled him back inside. Barbara asserts that he was gone for two hours even though he had been gone for less than a minute. She and Adam located a handbook for the recently deceased and know they did not escape the crash when they observed that they no longer had reflections.

Reviews of Netflix first movie 1998

One of the funniest movies you’ll ever see, Beetlejuice is fantastic. To be honest, it’s strange humor as it’s a dark comedy, but it’s all good. The main idea of the film is that, despite what some people believe, there is life after death, and that we should respect the deceased. The subject matter is unrealistic and does not apply to everyone in everyday life.

Myth about Beetlejuice
