International Left-Handers Day is celebrated on the 13th of August every year. The main reason behind this day’s celebration is to acknowledge the uniqueness and differences of left-handed people. Such people prefer using their left hand as their dominant hand while performing various activities. There are several merits and demerits of using one’s left hand. Left-handed individuals may think differently from right-handed ones. Such people are usually referred to as “southpaws.” International Left-Handers Day was celebrated for the first time in 1976.
