Tennessee is known as the Volunteer State, this name was introduced during the war of 1812. Tennessee is located in the southeastern region of the United States. It is honored with this title because many people from Tennessee volunteered and decided to send 1,500 soldiers to help Andrew Jackson in the War of 1812. With the support of Tennessee warriors, Mexico successfully took over its 50% of the territory. Tennessee offered volunteers to avenge the loss of Davy Crockett.
