Nicholas Maddox was born on November 9, 1886, in Maryland. He played as a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirate, an American Baseball team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He had a short baseball career from 1907 to 1910. Maddox made his big league debut against St. Louis Cardinals and defeated St. Louis Cardinals with a record of 4-0 in 1907. After a week, Maddox shutout Brooklyn Superbas(Dodgers) with a record of 2-1 and made history. Nicholas Maddox was the very few youngest pitchers to throw a no-hitter. A no-hitter is a game in which a team could not even record a single hit.
