  1. The Upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics Will Be the Sixth in France

Yes! The 2024 Games will be hosted by Paris for the third time, but for France, it will be the sixth. The country has also hosted the Winter Olympic Games in addition to the three Summer Games. 

  1. The Total Number of Sports Will Be 32

In the Paris Olympic Games 2024, the number of sports to be featured will be 32. On the whole, there will be 329 events. The sport known as “breaking” will be included for the very first time.

  1. Tahiti Will Be Hosting the Surfing Competition

In French Polynesia, Tahiti is the biggest island. It was chosen as the venue out of four other competing locations. They were Biarritz, Lacanau, Les Landes, and La Torche. Tahiti will also be breaking the record for the farthest Olympic event that takes place outside of the host city (Paris).

The main games will start on 26th July and will proceed until the 11th of August. However, the Olympic and Paralympic Games usually happen on different dates. The 2024 Paris Paralympic Games will begin on the 28th of August and will end on the 8th of September. A couple of days before the opening ceremony, the competitions for football and rugby will begin.

  1. The Games Are Not Going to Be Held in a Stadium!

The Paris 2024 Summer Olympics are definitely not going to be held in a stadium. Yes! You heard it right! Instead, the games will be hosted by Paris on the river Seine, which crosses the center of the city. The Seine is a long river that flows in northern France.
