Indonesia has the most volcanoes than anywhere in the world. Indonesia has been dominated by around 139 volcanoes. The volcanoes erupt occurred due to subduction zones connecting the Eurasian Plate and the Indo-Australian plate. Kelud and Merapi on Java Island are responsible for active volcanoes. They lead to a thousand deaths in the region.

Seventy-six percent of volcanoes are found on the 1800 mile-long chain, called Sunda Arc. Most of the volcanoes occur in Krakatau; its volcano explosion in 1883 resulted in 36,000 deaths. It was the second deadliest eruption in Indonesian history. Mount Tambora’s explosion resulted in 92,000 deaths in 1815.

Even the largest volcano explosion on the planet took place in Indonesia. In 1815 the eruption occurred in Mount Tambora which has been recorded as the largest in the universe. As a result, there was a huge climate impact in Europe in 1816.

Volcanological Survey of Indonesia is an agency formed by the Indonesian government under the ministry of energy and mineral resources. What they do is warning, investigations, recording within the Indonesian country. The exact official name of this organization is the Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi, in English, it is -Centre of Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation.

It is not a new volcanic and earthquake experience for Indonesian people, Volcanoes frequently blasts or remains dead. Volcano eruptions are happening because Indonesia is situated near an intersection of shifting tectonic plates, which includes the Eurasian plate, Pacific plate, Australian plate, and Philippine plate.
