1. The Dare Stones

In the late 1930s, researchers discovered a series of stones in the southeastern United States. The inscribed messages on these stones were found to be written by members belonging to the lost Roanoke Colony. Many people consider the stones some of the most bizarre artifacts unearthed in the US.

2. Hitler’s Typewriter

It has a place at the Bessemer Hall of History Museum, Alabama. This typewriter of the great dictator has come from his place known as “Eagle’s Nest” in Austria. Many people widely know that a soldier brought it to the US. Even though the typewriter was not exactly unearthed in the US, the nation now owns it, and the Bessemer Museum holds it in a prestigious place.

3. The Waubansee Stone

Long ago, Chicago was just a tiny westerly outpost where the Waubansee Stone was discovered on the banks of the Chicago River. The stone is actually a huge boulder with the face of an ancient man with a chin beard. His eyes are closed and his mouth is open. This is surely one of the strange ancient artifacts from the US.

4. Stone Artifacts from Mexican Caves

In 2012, some stone artifacts (or stone points) were unearthed after excavations in some Mexican caves. From this discovery of strange relics, archaeologists have come to the conclusion that people were living in the central part of Mexico at least 26,500 years ago!

5. The Plymouth Rock

The Mayflower settlers in the US stepped onto a mother rock, known as the Plymouth Rock. A part of this rock was cut and is being preserved to this day. It is one of the unusual artifacts in the country.

6. The Windover Bog Bodies

Florida is the home to the Skeletal remains of more than hundreds of North Americans who existed before the Native Americans. Known as the ‘Windover Bog Bodies,’ they are one of the Windover Archeological Sites in the Central East Coast of Florida.

7. Artifacts from Cooper’s Ferry Site

People found a number of projectile points at Copper Ferry’s site, located in the western part of Idaho. They are nothing but unusual artifacts from the Pleistocene to the early Holocene ages.

8. Marine Salvage from the USS Arizona

The word, “marine salvage” means the procedure of retrieving the property or parts of a ship that was wrecked years ago. “USS Arizona” was a battleship that unfortunately sank during the Pearl Harbor attack. Curators currently display artifacts salvaged from this battleship in many regions of the United States.

9. The Roman Coins

With the growth of cryptocurrency in the last decade, you might wonder why we are discussing ancient Roman coins here! However, many people, especially archaeologists, find these ancient coins highly interesting. Here is a tidbit about such coins in the US. In North America, archaeologists have unearthed several Roman coins dating back to the 16th century. These coins can serve as evidence of a pre-Columbian European presence.  They are a few of the unexplained and strange artefacts from the US according to the Archaeologists. 

10. Skeletons from a Mass Burial in Mexico City

A set of archaeologists working south of Mexico City discovered a mass grave with skeletal remains. They were in a spiral and consisted of ten individuals. This grave dates back to 2,400 years ago referring to a single event. Interestingly, it is one of the weirdest artifacts in the current era.
