It all happened very fast, the whole world is affected physically and also mentally. This is the time we have to stand united but also should quarantine ourselves from others. There were several articles on the internet about what you should do and what you shouldn’t do during coronavirus infections,what precautions should be taken, how to avoid the infection. Several countries are following different ways to contain the spread of coronavirus. But exactly what are the efforts put in to stop the spread of CoronaVirus?

 The World Is Following Several Basic Measures to Help Prevent the Spread of COVID-19:

China’s Efforts to Stop the Spread of Coronavirus

Wuhan, China- The place where the hazardous Coronavirus spread, is home to more than 11 million people. This was the first city to shut all the buses, trains and flights out of the city. This lockdown was extended to other nearby cities in Hubei province. Almost 50 million people were quarantined in their homes. Chinese authorities also built two hospitals in Wuhan in just 1 week. Health care workers were sent to the outbreak’s centers from all over China. Aggressive social distancing measures were taken including canceling social gatherings, shutting down malls, theaters and all other possible ways people would gather were cancelled. Phone apps like Alipay and Wechat helped the government to keep track of people’s movement. Color codes(green, yellow, red) on mobile phones indicated a person’s health status to help the guards at checkpoints proceed further. As a consequence of all these measures, on March 13th just five cases were reported in Wuhan and on March 19th, no new cases were reported. This indicates that the rate of the spread is decreasing.

Did Italy Take Preventive Measures Strictly?

The number of Corona cases reported has increased significantly. Italy’s death toll jumped to 827 in just 24 hours. It is by far the hardest-hit country of coronavirus after China. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte declared Italy a “red zone”. Italy’s government has ordered all the schools, universities, museums, cinemas and theaters to be closed until April 3. Shops, bars, restaurants all over the country must close by 6 p.m. Industries and banks can stay open but with strict measures followed. The government has banned people from traveling and asked people to quarantine at home. About 10,000 student doctors were appointed to work as general practitioners and in home care centers allowing experienced doctors to go to hospitals, doing this would decrease the burden in the hospitals. These are some efforts to stop the spread of Coronavirus in Italy.

    Strategies to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 in Iran

    In Iran more than 11,000 cases and about 500 deaths have been reported. Hospitals in some areas of Iran have been overwhelmed by the demand for treatment. And there are already complaints rising about how the government is responding to the pandemic Coronavirus. Schools, universities have been closed till April, and all the sports events, gatherings including Friday prayers have been cancelled. But Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that there were no plans to quarantine the whole city. Iran is now concerned about the Nowruz, Iran’s New Year which happens later in March. The entry routes in many provinces have been closed in order to stop visitors. Some people also believe that the government delayed revealing the emergency of the situation to avoid depressing voter turnout in the parliamentary elections.

    What is South Korea Doing to Stop the Spread of COVID-19?

    South Korea has experienced a drastic increase and reported a total of more than 8000 cases. On the streets of South Korea, disinfectants have been sprayed in order to kill pathogens. All the subways, restaurants you visit would have hand sanitizers at the entrances. Mostly, we could see all the people in the street jittering along with masks. This country has about 50 drive-through screening clinics where they can be tested for Coronavirus infection in just 10 minutes. The government is also supporting small and medium-sized business owners so that they can provide flexible work hours to their employees. Emergency Child Cares are operated for children whose parents are working. The travelers returning from South Korea are requested to stay home for 14 days, monitor their health and practice social distancing. The government of South Korea raised a red alert on 23rd February. A newly developed diagnostic system has been made available in order to detect the CoronaVirus in less than six hours.

    Covid-19 Cases in Japan

    Over 500 cases and about 15 deaths were reported in Japan. Japan is following stricter control measures. Mainly, travelers are banned from China and South Korea until the end of the month.  People who have arrived from other countries are asked to quarantine themselves for 14 days at home.

    Spain Followed Several Basic Measures to Help Prevent the Spread of COVID-19

    More than 9,000 cases have been reported and more than 290 deaths were registered in Spain. The Spanish government has nationalized all of its private hospitals and healthcare centers and the fourth-year medical students were asked to help the health service of the country.

    Germany’s Ways to Contain the Spread of Coronavirus

    There are totally more than 7,000 confirmed cases in Germany. All schools, theaters, gyms, museums were closed. Government has banned all events that contain more than 50 people. Germany has sealed its borders with Austria, Switzerland, France, Denmark, Luxembourg.

    The USA’s Strategies to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19

    The US has imposed border restrictions, US citizens coming back from other countries must follow a strict screening process at the airport. California is restricting people to leave home unless it’s necessary.

    How UK Contain the Spread of Coronavirus?

    More than 1,900 cases have been reported. The government is asking the public to quarantine themselves at home, avoiding public meetings, movies, and restaurants.

    Coronavirus Cases in France

    In France, more than 350 deaths have been reported. France and its surroundings are now experiencing severe lockdown. People are asked to stay at home avoiding unnecessary travels. It has been announced that the lockdown would continue for a minimum of 15 days.
