The restaurant was first launched in New York City in the year 1991. Many Hollywood celebrities including Whoopi Goldberg, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Don Johnson, Melanie Griffith, Tom Arnold, Wesley Snipes, and Danny Glover have endorsed and done promotional activities for the restaurant. Planet Hollywood is the only banquet that was created for the love of Hollywood.
