India’s 2022 Space Mission Plan: Chandrayaan 3
The Chandrayaan 1 mission was India’s first space mission. The robot explorer or rover for shot landed safely on the surface of the moon in 2008 but was lost shortly until NASA found it using a radar system. The Chandrayaan 2 mission was launched in 2019. The Vikram lander that carries the second version of the rover crash-landed but the rover began its intended function soon.
India is now set to launch Chandrayaan 3 in 2022 to explore the availability of water on the Moon’s surface.
SLIM Space Mission Plan by Japan
Japan’s latest space mission abbreviated as SLIM stands for Smart Lander for Investigating the Moon. The UAE rover will be launched through a Japanese lander from SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket. The April 2022 mission will study landing patterns on the moon.
