Interesting Things You Didn’t Know About Marvel’s Daredevil

Behold, Marvel fans! The devil is coming home! The Daredevil series, originally produced and streamed by Netflix, is finally returning to Disney+ on March 16. It is one of the few superhero series with a large fanbase, featuring Matthew Murdock, a lawyer by day, and the Devil (Daredevil) of Hell’s Kitchen at night. Blinded by radioactive chemicals when he was young, Matt acquires heightened senses and uses them to fight crimes in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen. Here’s the thing you didn’t know about Netflix’s – oops – Marvel’s Daredevil.

The story isn’t as simple as that. The series got better with every episode – from morally gray characters to astonishing storyline – fans fell in love with the story and every character that appeared on screen (no offense, but not you Vanessa).

Fans were already hinted at the return of this critically acclaimed series and its characters last year, a big thanks to Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye and Sony’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Daredevil’s primary villain, Wilson Fisk aka. Kingpin was revealed to be the ‘big guy’ in episode 5 of Hawkeye, which aired on December 15. Two days later was the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which had the honor to introduce the savior, ‘The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen’ in a small but mind-blowing cameo. Marvel Studios really pulled off one of the biggest revelations here!

What Was the Name Decided for Their Law Firm by Matt and His Friends at the End of Season 3?
  • A. Nelson, Murdock & Page
  • B. The Hell’s Kitchen Law Firm
  • C. Nelson and Murdock
  • D. Law Offices of New York

Along with Daredevil, Netflix’s other Marvel series such as The Punisher, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and the mini crossover series The Defenders. With the Devilverse finally becoming a part of the MCU.

Daredevil’s Heightened Senses are Better than Spider-Man’s Spidey Sense

It’s true, yes! Matt has the ability to observe any kind of sense even miles away which our friendly neighborhood Spidey cannot. From one’s heartbeat to temperature variations, Daredevil can sense it all.

He was the Kingpin of Earth-65

And the crowd goes… silent? In the comics, Matt Murdock was everything he wasn’t in Earth-65. Initially working as Kingpin’s lawyer, Matt eventually ran a criminal organization and took the identity of Kingpin after Fisk’s arrest.

Matt Murdock is a Devoted Catholic

This particular characteristic makes Matt’s character all the more intense and helps explore his morally gray character more. As a Catholic, Murdock, though passionate to do the right thing, struggles to find peace when he lets his anger take over – leading to violent results. He often questions his actions, whether he is doing the right thing under the eyes of God. This inner turmoil is a very new heroic perspective for viewers, making them more interested in his character.

Daredevil is (Subtly) a Part of the MCU

MCU references in Daredevil? – loud gasp – Yes, there are! Daredevil was speculated to happen post-Marvel’s Avengers given the poor (and destroyed) condition of Hell’s Kitchen. The speculation was confirmed when we saw a framed Daily Bulletin page in Ben Urich’s office referring to the Chitauri Invasion. The alien invasion led by Loki, the God of Mischief was successfully defeated in New York by a group of superheroes that turned out to be the six-member team – the Avengers.

The aftermath of the Battle of New York posed a great opportunity for Wilson Fisk to strengthen his underground criminal empire, eventually becoming the archnemesis of Daredevil.

Secret Identity? Not Really

Let’s keep the special abilities and skills aside for a while. Matt Murdock is one of the worst characters to keep his secret identity a secret. From Karen Page to S.H.I.E.L.D, Matt was this close to being exposed as Daredevil.

Daredevil comes to Disney+ on March 16, with the characters possibly reprising their roles in future MCU projects like She-Hulk, Echo, and lots more. Please give us a Season 4 Marvel, that’d be enough!
