1. November 1 – All Saints’ Day

All Saints’ Day also known as All-Hallows’ Day or All-Hallowmas Solemnity of all saints is a Christian solemnity celebrated on 1st November 2020. All Saints Day is celebrated to honor all saints in the church who attained peace in heaven. All Saints’ Day occurs the day after Halloween hence it is named All Hallows’s Day or All Hallows’s Eve.

2. November 2 – All Souls’ Day

All Souls’ Day also called a commemoration of the souls or the day of the dead, which is celebrated as the remembrance of the souls who have died. This day is celebrated as Western Christianity on November 2.

3. November 3 – Election Day

Election Day usually falls on November 2 or November 8 in the United States. Not only in the United States but also in some other countries Election Day is considered to be a public holiday where schools, universities, and companies/businesses are also closed.

4. November 5 – Return Day

Return Day is a famous traditional festival celebrated by the state of Delaware, a Mid-Atlantic state in the US. Return day falls around a few after the election day. This day is considered a public holiday in Delaware as the result of the election will be announced on that day.

5. November 10 – Marine Corps Birthday

Marine Corps Birthday is celebrated every year on November 10 as a remembrance of the establishment of continental marines in 1775.  Marine Corps birthday is celebrated with a traditional ball dance and a cake-cutting ceremony.

6. November 11 – Veterans Day

Veterans Day is a federal holiday in the United States celebrated on November 11 every year. This day is celebrated to honor the military veterans, who have worked hard for the country’s peace in the United States Armed Forces.

7. November 14 – Diwali/Deepavali

Diwali is one of the famous Hindu festivals celebrated by Indians/ Hindus and many other communities in the United States. Even though Diwali is not a nationwide public holiday, it is celebrated by many people in towns and cities.

8. November 26 – Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day is the famous national holiday celebrated by every American on the fourth Thursday of November. Thanksgiving Day is also celebrated by many other countries on different dates. This day is celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the harvest.

9. November 27 – Black Friday

The day after Thanksgiving Day is celebrated as Black Friday, which is celebrated in more than 20 states. Black Friday is not regarded as an official holiday but states like California and other states consider “The Day After Thanksgiving” as an official holiday for state government employees.

10. November 27 – Native American Heritage Day

The day after Thanksgiving Day is considered as the Native American Heritage Day considered as a civil holiday. The Native American Heritage Day is celebrated to honor the first native peoples of America and their importance in the past, present, and future.

11. November 29 – First Sunday of Advent

The First Sunday of Advent also known as the Advent Sunday is the first day of the liturgical year or a week before Christmas. Advent Sunday is the fourth Sunday of November month which can fall between November 27 to December 2.

12. November 30 – Cyber Monday

Cyber Monday is considered to be one of the most famous online shopping days in the United States. Cyber Monday is the second-biggest shopping day and the busiest day for online sales. Cyber Monday was created by an online retailer Shop.Org in 2005.
