Joe Biden meets Queen Elizabeth

You might have heard that the president of America, Joe Biden and lady Jill Biden met Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle, Sunday.

  • This visit was the President’s first official trip abroad after becoming the president of the United States.
  • The Bidens took Air Force One from Newquay, Cornwall, to London’s Heathrow Airport, then a Marine One helicopter the short distance to Windsor.
  • They also met during the Group of Seven summit on Friday, but President Joe Biden and his wife had a far more intimate visit with Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II on Sunday at her residence at Windsor Castle.
  • President Joe Biden and his wife were honored with a royal salute in the quadrangle before Star Spangled Banner was also played.
  • Biden stood next to the queen by wearing aviator sunglasses, before inspecting troops in the courtyard of Windsor Castle, which was last seen on television at the solemn burial service for her husband, Prince Philip, who died in April at the age of 99.
  • Biden will then join senior commanders to examine the Guard before returning to the dais to watch a military parade with the first lady and the queen.
  • Because of the epidemic, this year’s celebration was held on the grounds of Windsor Castle rather than in downtown London.
  • The Bidens were then presented to Dame Annabel Whitehead, the Queen’s lady-in-waiting, before eating tea in the castle’s Oak Room.
  • It comes after the conclusion of the G7 conference in Cornwall, where world leaders discussed problems such as vaccinations and climate change.
  • FalseJoe Biden said that “She was very generous. I don’t think she’d be insulted but she reminded me of my mother. In terms of the look of her and just the generosity. She was very gracious.” Joe Biden also added that he invited her to the White House.
