The BET awards are an American Award show that was established by the Black Entertainment television network in 2001 in order to celebrate black love, black culture, and black accomplishments. The BET Awards were established to honor African Americans and other American minorities in several fields like music, sports, etc. Since 2001, the awards are presented every year to honor black excellence. Usually, the BET Awards are broadcast live and many people of all ages attend the event to enjoy the performance of their favorite celebrities. Usually, the average price for BET tickets would be around $129 and only the people over age 21 are supposed to attend the VIP after-parties.
The BET Awards 2020 was the 20th year of the Awards show and 40th year for the Black Entertainment Television. The show was about to take place from June 25 to June 27 but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the BET awards 2020 has been canceled and VIP tickets were all refunded. Instead, the BET Awards was aired on June 28 as planned and CBS(Columbia Broadcasting System) joined as the broadcasting partner. The program was simulated via CBS Viacom network & for the first time ever on CBS in its National Broadcast Premiere.
