1996- Bryant finishes high school and directly joins the NBA after spending his childhood in Italy. He leads the Lower Merion Aces and the USA named him as the National High School Player of the Year.
Bryant is selected by the Charlotte Hornets as the 13th pick in the first round of the NBA draft in the same year.
1999-00- As a 22-year-old, Bryant won his first championship next to Shaquille O’Neal with Phil Jackson as a coach. Bryant wins his first NBA title as the Lakers.
2003- Bryant was arrested for a sexual assault in Colorado. He publicly admitted to having consensual sex with the 19-year-old accuser but insisted he had not committed a crime.
2004- The charges were ultimately dropped as the woman declined to testify in 2004.
2005-06- Kobe scores 81 points in the Lakers against Toronto, the second-highest total in NBA history behind Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point effort.
2008-09- Bryant wins a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics as a US member of the men’s basketball team.
